In any country, it is customary to honor your leaders and famous heroes. But more often all the exploits are done not by TV stars, but by ordinary people. They save the lives of others in everyday situations, without thinking about how this will affect their image and even ignore the danger to their own lives.
However, children are often heroes. In the Soviet Union, the pioneers who fought with the political enemies of the young government and the invaders were honored. However, these young heroes in many ways created propaganda. We will talk about those children whose resourcefulness and courage helped save lives and prevent terrible tragedies.
The feat of this boy was that for the sake of saving the baby he did not hesitate to go down into the narrow gorge. In the Himalayas, in Nepal there is the River Seti, which originates in the Annapurna mountain range and from there flows to the town of Pokhara. It is a famous tourist place, where excursions around the country start. Before the powerful earthquake happened, in 2012 the river went under the city and was lost in a narrow and deep gorge. The water stream cut its way deep underground, then lost in the mountains. In June 2008, a tragedy occurred – a two-year-old Aradhana Pradhan fell from a height of 20 meters into one of the gorges with a river. Rescuers tried to reach the girl, but the gorge was so narrow that it was impossible to climb there adult. After 22 hours the child stopped even making sounds. There were suggestions that Aradhana was already dead. The longest in the gorge penetrated Salum Nepali, to a depth of 8 meters. Help him volunteered his brother, 12-year-old Kamal. He tried to climb into a narrow gap, which did not obey the adult. Rescuers did not dare to use the services of a young rescuer for a long time, but they simply had no choice. So they started to lower the boy down. But the rescuers did not have the opportunity to see how things were going in the dark. Only the walkie-talkies helped. Only after half an hour Kamal rose to the surface – all sighed with relief. And in his bag on the back sat a small Aradhana. She was taken to the nearest hospital, where the girl quickly recovered. Kamala was declared a national hero. The boy received many awards for his courage. Michael Bouron.
For the sake of important goals, children need not only to show courage, but also to learn new skills on the fly. This hero managed, for the sake of his father’s salvation, even to start a truck with no ignition keys. In the Australian region of Whitbelt is a small town of Bonnie Rock. But the shortage of such remote places lies in the fact that it takes a long time to get qualified help. That’s why after the accident that happened with Justin Bower, it seemed that he had no chance to survive. After all, the skull of the driver was damaged, and he himself was pressed to the ground. The nearest hospital was located at a distance of 50 kilometers from this place. But even there there was no necessary doctor who was located in general in 200 kilometers from failure. The truck turned over in a very remote area. But Justin was lucky that next to him went his 12-year-old son Michael. Only now he was also injured, so that he could not talk about medical assistance to his father. And the boy would not have been able to reach the nearest settlement. It’s good that Michael was in a sleeping place during the accident and got off with scratches. The boy managed to get out and get to the radio. Only here the equipment was broken, because during the wreck the wires were torn off. Then Michael had to act under the guidance of his father. The boy took out a spare battery, was able to connect it and set up the radio. But before he had any experience with electronics at all. Michael had to bare the wires and connect them to an external battery. And the engine of the truck all this time continued to work, splashing out gasoline and oil. In other words, there was a constant risk of explosion. It’s good that the boy managed to quickly set up the radio.Already an hour after the crash the ambulance took the injured man to the hospital. Thanks to timely help, Justin Bowron was able to recover from numerous injuries. And no one has any doubt that a man owes his life to his son and his resourcefulness.
This boy had to walk barefoot in the snow, not for the sake of hardening, but for the sake of saving his family. Every year in the United States there are hundreds of accidents that involve the use of cell phones. Another common cause is snowy weather. In the state of Colorado alone, because of it, 5,000 accidents happen every year. For the Hill family in 2002, these two factors converged. The family returned home after a traditional Thanksgiving dinner. Tammy Hill’s phone rang. When trying to understand the tube, the woman lost control of the car. The pickup rolled over five times and only then stopped. At the back of the cab were three children at once – at the age of one, four and seven. They did not suffer, because they were well fastened with seat belts in their children’s seats. But the disaster was a shock to them. After all, the kids were already preparing for bed, changing into their pajamas and taking off their shoes. It remained only to wait until the pick-up truck came home. And then the children were alone, because the mother was thrown out of the car and was unconscious. Then the initiative was shown by the eldest child, Titus. He unbuttoned and checked to see if everything was in order with his sisters. Then the boy went to seek help. But there was a sub-zero temperature on the street. On Titus was only pajamas, and he lost his shoes. It was necessary for the seven-year-old boy to walk barefoot in the snow about half a kilometer before he reached the dairy farm. And although the local workers did not understand the English language, the phrase “my mother, my mother” and the panic look of the child made it clear that something had happened. After the ambulance arrived at the scene, Tammy Hill was found in critical condition. The woman was fragmented about twelve bones. And only the cleverness of her eldest son and his brave decision to go half-dressed and stripped for help, saved Titus’s mother’s life. Elspeth “Bini” Mar.
The danger lies in wait for us everywhere – you can die simply by choking on food. And it’s good when there are girls like Elspeth Mar who come quickly to the rescue. For an adult, the danger of choking is great, and for children this threat is even more serious. Such an accident is one of the most frequent causes of child mortality and injuries. In America, every month, an average of six children die due to the fact that the food they got in the wrong throat. Elspeth “Bini” Mar was six years old when she ate her lunch at Sacramento Elementary School. And suddenly one of her friends choked and began to choke. It turned out that a piece of apple was firmly stuck in the trachea of classmate Elspeth, Ani Rigmayden. The unfortunate woman literally tore her throat, trying to breathe air. Then the young Elspeth Mar took over. She calmly approached the victim and used Geimlich’s reception to help. All in all, Ania spit out the one piece of apple that hit her in the trachea. And everyone in this situation was surprised by the equanimity with which the girl saved the life of a classmate. After that, Elspeth just quietly returned to her place. Later it turned out that the girl had learned such a useful technique in the Disney show. So sometimes watching TV shows can be useful.
This boy was not afraid to put his life on the line for the sake of saving the boy who fell through thin ice. When a person drowns, he experiences feelings similar to suffocation. That’s just all much worse. Water enters the lungs, and the body includes protective mechanisms, compressing the throat. The respiratory tract is compressed, as if food has got into them. The person becomes terrified and confused, falling below the water level. All that can be done in this case is to try to be afloat, clinging to everything possible, including for other people. It is these moments that tell rescuers in the course of their training. The fact is that it’s not enough just to get a man out of the water. It is necessary to do it so neatly, that the sinking did not drag the rescuer to the bottom, convulsively clinging to him. That is why, when a child without special training is not enough of what emerges himself, but also saves someone at the same time, one has to talk about heroism. This story happened in December 2009. Nine-year-old Victor Flores was walking with his friend, seventh-grader Aiden, over the site of his grandfather. The older boy decided to ride on the ice in a small pond, despite Victor’s warnings about thin ice. But Aiden went out on the ice, immediately went cracked and the teenager fell into the icy water. Victor rushed to save his friend, but only himself fell into the water. As expected, Aiden began to push his friend down in a panic, trying to get to the surface. It’s good that Victor has kept his composure. He sailed away from the sinking, got out of the water and ran after the pole. With his help, the boy pulled a friend out of the icy lake. Grandmother came to the aid, and heard shouts. Thanks to Victor’s quick decisions and his firm spirit, he managed to avoid a double tragedy. Jeremy Witshick.
A bus without brakes or with a faded driver is usually part of a thriller, but this situation has occurred in real life. And only thanks to the teenager managed to prevent the bus crash. Such a yellow vehicle is a classic part of childhood for several generations of Americans. It is not surprising that there is a sense of calm and confidence, no one observes vigilance. In addition, a trip on such a bus is the first morning’s business, there is no control in the form of teachers. Children usually doze off or have fun with friends. Even according to studies until half past nine in the morning, children can not really concentrate on business. Therefore, the act of 13-year-old Jeremy Witshik, who became a hero when others just woke up, is surprising. In April 2012, Jeremy, as usual in the morning, was driving at his usual place in school. Then he saw a driver, who was sitting several rows before him, suddenly lost consciousness. And although the bus continued to go forward, the driver’s hands were not already on the handlebar. The vehicle was moving independently, without control. The seventh-grader was not at a loss, jumped up and grabbed the steering wheel, sending the bus to the roadside. Jeremy simply could not reach the pedals, it prevented him from stopping the movement. But the teenager showed wit, pulling out the keys from the ignition lock. The other teenagers immediately called 911. Another teenager, Johnny Wood, also became a hero, having managed to make the driver with artificial respiration before the arrival of doctors.
And this teenager has shown composure, having managed to rescue the brother and the sister from the burning car. However, in this case, it was impossible to do without victims. Gayleen Miles decided to commit suicide, and she succeeded. However, the actions of his son prevented the realization of the plans of the woman to kill three more of her children. In 2000, Gaileen visited a psychiatric hospital, shortly after which she also divorced. In January of the following year, a woman took the children out of school, telling them that they were going on an excursion to Gallup, New Mexico. In fact, Gaileen drove her family to the unsociable place in the Zuni mountains. There she forced the children to drink 12 tablets, allegedly, in order to protect themselves from the cold. Drugs and the woman herself drank. Already in the car, all four lost consciousness. But then something happened which Gaileen did not plan at all. Her leg lay on the gas pedal for so long that the car was overheated and it caught fire. The fire proved to be a much more dangerous and obvious enemy than cold or tablets. It’s good that the heat woke up the older child, 13-year-old Timmy. He immediately saw that the dashboard was burning and tried to extinguish it.But when it turned out that the first impulse could not be realized, the boy began to pull out of his car 11-year-old brother and 10-year-old sister. But he could not save his mother, maybe she already died at that moment. The children waited until the fire subsided. Then they returned to the burnt car, because it was their only shelter. The whole night three children were held among the burned skeleton, huddled together for the sake of warmth. In the morning, the children went for help, after getting into the hospital for the treatment of burns. It is to be hoped that Timmy will retain his courage, despite the circumstances accompanying his heroic deed.
It is difficult for women to fight against rapists. But sometimes children come to the aid of the victims. In January 2013, a student from Michigan went to her car, when a stranger threatened her with a pistol. It was 30-year-old Eric Ramsey, who had already served five years in jail for causing serious injuries. He forced the girl to take him to his mother’s house, where he immediately raped the unfortunate student. But her misadventures on this and did not think to end. Ramsey tied his victim and shoved her back into the car. When leaving the house, the rapist told the girl that she wanted to kill her. At full speed, the student managed to jump out of the car, breaking her hand. The girl rushed to the nearest house, in which the light was on, and began to knock on the door with a healthy hand. However, there was no adult in the house – there were only three children, whose father went to his girlfriend. The elder child was James Persin. And although he knew that it was impossible to open to strangers, he made an exception for the girl praying for help. The student ran into the house and told the children to hide, as a criminal who was hungry for blood paced up and down the street. Then James closed all the doors and led the children into the bathroom. Then he turned off the light and waited for the bandit with a hunting knife in his hand and with his dog. Soon Ramsey realized in what house his prey was hidden – he began to knock on the door. But the locks did not succumb to the blows. Then the robber took two cans of gasoline in the garage, poured a door on them and set them on fire. James was in a difficult situation – his house was on fire, but he could not open the door. After all, he was waiting for him by a bandit. Then the boy closed himself with everyone in the bathroom and dialed 911. Help soon arrived, and the fire was extinguished. Ramsey, when trying to escape, managed to crash into a police car, and was shot before the morning.
High School of the Sacramento Valley.
And this feat was performed by a whole group of children to save the girl. The story happened in May 2013. In California, one mother came for her daughter, a high school student. However, parking, the woman struck in front of a standing car. The driver sharply turned back and did not notice his own daughter standing next to him. The car jerked so sharply that it literally nailed the girl to the ground, having moved her. Loud cries of the injured heard a baseball school team, which trained alongside. Immediately the boys came running to save the girl. The machine was raised by common efforts, so that the victim could be dragged to a safe place. It turns out that such a massive feat became possible due to the unique feature of our body, known as “fight or flight”. This is a very powerful automatic reaction to stress, which allows you to literally multiply your strength. Under normal conditions, the muscles work only on 65 percent of their capabilities. But under the influence of adrenaline, the body can work in the maximum computation. It is also known that adrenaline increases perception. With the splash of this substance, a person’s time slows down, danger is felt much sharper, and the brain memorizes details more than in normal conditions. So a powerful reaction is formed on the situation, which allows ordinary people to do the impossible and save lives for others.
In this story, the youngest – both the heroine and the baby saved by her – came together. In Florida, it’s so hot in the summer that everyone wants to stay close to swimming pools, where you can cool down. But this is exactly what keeps this state in the first place in the country in terms of the level of drowned children under the age of 15 years. The Florida Department of Health estimated that at the age of five, seven out of a hundred thousand children die from water in the state. Nationwide statistics say that at this age children usually die from birth defects, and children do not even sink to the sea, but in the basins. Riley Brandon was only five years old when, in May 2009, she was walking with a neighbor next to the pool. Several other families also rested there. Riley hid from the heat in the shallow pool, when she saw that a small child had fallen into the water. The worst thing is that none of the adults noticed what happened to the one and a half year old child. Riley knew how to swim since two years, she immediately dived under the water and pulled out of her child. If the girl hesitated for a few more seconds, then the life of the baby would be in jeopardy. For a brave deed, the scouts were awarded a five-year-old girl with the Reward for the Saving of Life. Yes, and in school, all noted the brave act of the girl. It turned out that her parents worked as searchors rescuers on the water. From them, Riley has learned not to get lost in the water and help other people.
