Air carriers use a variety of different aircraft for transportation. Sometimes these vehicles fall, and not always because of terrorist attacks. For example, up to now, more than 500 Boeing 737 early aircrafts have been used, which have been manufactured since 1988.
When such a liner of Itek Air crashed in Kyrgyzstan in 2008, the European Union prohibited this carrier from flying to Europe. The level of security was very low. This aircraft has an average of 507.5 thousand flight hours on average. As this figure decreases, the probability of an accident increases. A successful Boeing model was produced from 1967 to 1988. Even today, 517 such airliners carry out flights around the world. Mostly these are the poorest countries. The first version of the 737-th model is considered the most emergency. The last major accident associated with this car occurred in 2008 near Bishkek. Then the plane of the Kyrgyz carrier fell, which at that time was already about 30 years old. In that accident, 68 people died.
This aircraft began to be manufactured back in 1974, coming off the assembly line so far. One Il-76 crash falls on 549,900 flight hours. Until now, 247 such machines are in operation. They are mainly used by small airlines in the former Soviet Union, as well as in Africa and the Middle East. In 2007, one of the biggest air crashes occurred with the participation of this liner. On the plane of the Iranian Airline Revolutionary Guard crashed 275 people.
Two aircraft are much detached from the level of danger from their competitors. Fly to another child of the Soviet aircraft industry is twice calmer. One disaster accounts for 1,041 million hours. The aircraft is produced since 1971, it is still relevant today. Now we use 336 such airliners. The Tu-154 also flies mainly in the countries of the former Soviet Union, on domestic routes. In Iran alone, since 2002, there have been 4 accidents involving this aircraft. The most recent occurred on July 15, 2009, when the Tu-154, following the Tehran-Yerevan flight, crashed near Qazvin. In that catastrophe, 168 people were killed.
The aircraft was produced in 1983-1998. Currently, 191 of these “Airbus” are operated. With the participation of this liner, there is one disaster for 1067,700 flight hours. The main carriers for a long time do not use such a European aircraft. But companies from poorer countries continue to use it. An example is the Pakistan International Airlines. The latest disaster involving A310 occurred on June 30, 2009. Then the Yemenia Airlines liner on the way from Yemen to the Comoros fell into the open sea. 153 people died, only a 12-year-old girl was saved by a miracle.
This aircraft was produced in 1965-1982. So the youngest model is 30 years old. But after all, 315 such devices are regularly used. One DC-9 accident occurs on 1068700 flight hours. In 1997, McDonnell-Douglas ceased to exist as a member of Boeing.However, its elderly aircraft are used by many small carriers, and even by a major American company Delta Airlines. The age of the fleet sometimes leads to accidents. For example, in April 2008, Hewa Bora Airways crashed into the Congo, killing 44 people.
The popular Soviet airliner was produced in 1964-1986. So far, 223 such cars are being lifted into the sky. One Tu-134 crash occurs in 1087600 hours in the sky. The liner managed to become the most massive in the Soviet civil aviation, it is still used both in Russia and in the near abroad. However, the noise level of aircraft engines exceeds European standards, which is why Tu-134 flies mainly on domestic routes. In August 2004, one of the major accidents involving this aircraft took place. The liner of the air carrier Volga-Aviaexpress collided. Then all 43 people who were on board were lost.
This legendary aircraft was produced in 1963-1984. Up to now, 412 such machines have been used. One disaster accounts for an average of 2306,300 flying hours. It must be admitted that most of the major airlines have long since disposed of outdated Boeing 727s. So, United Airlines in 1993, gave such a liner to the Chicago Museum of Science and Industry. But outside the United States, this model is still widely used, especially by charter carriers. One of the most memorable tragedies involving Boeing 727 took place in Benin on Christmas Day in 2003. Then the catastrophe killed 151 people.
The popular liner was produced in 1980-1999. Even today, 923 such cars leave for flights. On average, one accident occurs on 2332300 flight hours. This model replaced the obsolete DC-9, although it has already been discontinued, such liners are still used by the American company Delta. And Europeans from SAS Alitalia consider the plane still suitable for transportation. But in August 2008, the MD-80 Spanish company Spanai fell, making a flight from Madrid to the Canary Islands. Then 153 people died.
Surprisingly, this aircraft belongs to that rare type of aircraft, whose safety with age only increases. Produced DC-10 from 1971 to 1989 years. Even today, 153 such aircraft are used. One accident accounts for an average of 2908800 flight hours. But in the 1970s there were so many catastrophes that it was decided to significantly change and improve the design of the aircraft. As a result, the last major accident involving DC-10 happened in 1999. Then the liner of the former French operator AOM crashed in Guatemala. Today DC-10 is on regular flights with the only airline – Biman Bangladesh.
This model of the American manufacturer was produced in 1990-2001. It was not very successful, frightened in particular by its fuel consumption indicators. But even today Finair and KLM still use MD-11, mainly for cargo transportation. In total, 187 such aircraft are operated in the world. One accident occurs on 3668800 flight hours. The last catastrophe dates back to 1999. Then at the China Airlines in Hong Kong, landing at the time of the hurricane, the MD-11 caught fire. The accident killed three people.
